Connecting Bihar to the World

Bihar Foundation was established by the Government of Bihar on 24th November 2006 and restructured as a registered society on 27th July 2007. It serves as the state’s diaspora engagement arm, working with the vision of Bonding, Branding and Business. The Foundation connects Biharis across the globe, promotes Bihar’s rich culture and heritage, and creates opportunities for development and investment.

Foundation Highlights

The Bihar Foundation plays a vital role in strengthening the bonds between Bihar and its global diaspora. It promotes the state’s art, culture, tourism, and business opportunities while also running impactful initiatives such as “Adopt a Village”, which has provided eye surgeries, distributed eyeglasses, and supported rural schools and vocational training.

Milestones Achieved

Over the years, the Foundation has established multiple international chapters in countries such as the USA, UK, UAE, Australia, Canada, and more, along with domestic centres across India. In 2025, plans were announced to open integrated centres in 10 major Indian cities and expand outreach in Oman.
